OUR PROGRAM

Middle school is a time for exploration, a time when students explore their passions, pursue them, and work collaboratively with peers to achieve them. The middle school program provides interactive, engaging content that encourages and empowers students to lead their own discovery. The integrated project-based STEM program boost student excitement, drives collaboration and inspires comprehension.

 

What is project-based learning? Project-based learning is the instructional strategy of empowering learners to pursue content knowledge on their own and demonstrate their new understandings through a variety of presentation modes.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ACADEMIC PROGRAM

GROWING SEQUOIA'S Grades 6-8

 

Scholars in 6th through 8th grades will select from our online courses and may choose a combination of curriculum options as needed to create an optimal learning experience. In addition, these students are eligible to join our online social network and clubs with parent or guardian supervision. Our middle school curriculum from leading education publishers and our own curriculum specialists covers the content of language arts, pre-algebra, science, math, and social studies to give the students a well balanced combination of literary, quantitative, critical and creative abilities needed for lifelong learning experiences. The integration of our project-based STEM curriculum and activities, offering content in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science provides students with rich science courses that enable students to engage actively in investigations, science, technology, engineering, and math. Coding at a young age prepares them for the future.

The middle school courses include core subjects such as:

• Science

• History

• World Languages

Students will take elective courses, such as coding, art, P.E and health, as well.

When a student enrolls in Nedlof's Virtual College Preparatory Academy, they will receive:
