Nedlof’s Virtual College Preparatory Academy provides comprehensive support to ensure that our online school scholars understand their graduation requirements and are well prepared for lifelong success beyond high school.

To make sure that our graduating class of seniors is well prepared to make a successful transition out of virtual high school, to postsecondary education, Nedlof’s Virtual College Preparatory Academy provides:

  • Access to a full-time certified school counselor,

  • Assistance creating a four-year academic plan,

  • College and career planning, including:

    • Provide aptitude assessments and individual planning to help identify a student's interests and abilities,

    • Support in finding appropriate college or career opportunities,

    • Live online workshops about the college application process, including information on local colleges and universities,

    • Financial aid and scholarship Live online workshops

    • Free access to college admissions test preparation online courses and information about test dates, locations, etc.

    • Official transcripts

 

Whether our scholars choose to attend college, become entrepreneurs, or pursue a career, Nedlof’s Virtual College Preparatory Academy graduates will be competitive with their peers.

High School Graduation Requirements

Starting with the Class of 2022, students must successfully earn a minimum of 22 credits to graduate and also take state tests. There is no uniform national policy when it comes to standardized testing requirements for private schools. Some states require standardized testing in private schools, while others do not. If you live in a state other than Michigan, be sure to check your state’s policies and requirements.

The course credits required to graduate include:

 

 

 

  • Personal Project Portfolios such as the Senior Capstone Project is available to earn elective credit.

  • Elective credit may also include additional core courses taken beyond the minimum requirements.
